Good afternoon NRTBA families,
It is that time of year. Basketball season is just around the corner. We are excited to kick off the
2022-23 NRTBA season (Grades 3-6) with Player Evaluations on Sunday, October 2, and Monday, October 3 (Times are Below).
This year’s evaluations are being held on back-to-back days to help give the high school coaches an opportunity to evaluate players. Although we know there may be conflicts, please plan to attend both days. In instances where that is not possible, there is an area on the registration form to indicate which day the attendee will be missing due to conflict so that coaches can plan accordingly.
Players Evaluation Dates (The player evaluation process is $5 at the door, cash only.):

3rd/4th Grade Boys and Girls 9-10:15 a.m.
5th/6th Grade Boys and Girls 10:30 a.m. – Noon
Monday, October 3 at NRAC

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfcn9__aHisdDj3YRgItXL73pFOUWKZU9m1Mmfn82vs20DQnQ/viewform?usp=sf_linkPlayer Evaluations will be run by the North Ridgeville High School coaching. We will have at least one team per age group for the girls. For the boys, the goal is to have two teams per grade and we will do so if we have enough to make two competitive teams. This decision will be made during/after evaluations. Rosters will be posted on TeamApp and emailed out by the end of tryout week.
NRTBA coaches will not be in attendance as the high school coaches will run the evaluations. We are currently taking applications for
2022-23 coaches. If interested and have not applied, please indicate on the registration link and we will reach out to you with the application. Coaches will be announced and assigned to teams after the evaluation and team selection process.
A few other things:
We will hold a registration night in mid-October once teams are selected. At this time, we will collect season fees ($250 and in the attached NRTBA info, will try on uniforms, and get out other important info). Please plan to be there if playing this season. Info will be sent out ASAP.
The girls basketball coaching staff will be holding two Open Gyms for potential girls NRTBA players. This is a great opportunity to work on your skills and to get to know what is expected. The GIRLS Open Gyms are: September 22, 29 (5:30-7 at NRAC)
For more information about NRTBA please take a look at the attached NRTBA Info Slides. Do know that some info/details can change as the season approaches and plans are made. If you have any questions, please send them to me and I will try to put out a FAQ sheet to send out prior to tryouts.
Please pass along this info to others you think may be interested in trying out for NRTBA and please let me know if you have any questions. We are excited for what should be an exciting
2022-23 basketball season.
Thanks,
Jason Stacy
NRTBA President
